Product Opportunities
The Company is developing a broad array of products which incorporate AFPs or AFP-based transgenes. Products utilizing AFPs include those designed to hypothermically preserve blood platelets and other cells, tissues and organs; to ablate tumor cells in conjunction with cryosurgery; to enhance the texture and quality of frozen foods; to provide skin protection under adverse, cold conditions. AFP-based transgenes have been successfully used to increase the growth rate of fish and are being tested to protect fish and plants from freezing.
